thankful.....

Today I am thankful for friends. And I have really good ones.

Our dear friend, Becky brought us over a house warming gift the other night. She had been working on it for months. Months! I must say, it is beautiful and I'm touched. It's the perfect colors to match our house and she even put hidden pictures in there that only we would know. Beck, I LOVE it. Thank you.

My friends are selfless and caring. Whether they send a text saying 'I miss you' or they fly hundreds of miles to be with you for your dad's funeral. Either way, I'm grateful for them.

the kitchen.....

When we first bought the house, I said that the kitchen would be a top priority. I love to cook and be in the kitchen, and this kitchen.....well, it just wasn't up to par :) It was totally functional, but very, very old. I wanted to replace the kitchen cabinets and add all new appliances....blah blah blah.

After painting the cabinets, pulling up the old linoleum and living in the house for awhile now, I think we might wait on finishing the kitchen. Even though I do need a dishwasher.....:( But I think we'll finish the basement instead. Can't wait!

Yes, someday I'll have brand new cabinets and appliances, but right now I'm loving the "vintage" feel that it has :) And as long as I can cook my little family some great food, I'm a happy momma.
