big girl

Lately I've felt that Brenna is no longer a baby. I mean, she obviously still is, but she is constantly doing something. The kid can't sit still. Everyday Ross comes home from work he says, "She's so big!" It makes me a little sad, but also excited to see her grow into a little girl! She likes to eat from a spoon, she doesn't have a favorite food right now, but I can definitely tell you she HATES green beans! Here she is eating carrots.


I broke down and put her on formula! I stressed out way too much about feeding her and where I would be. But you know what? She has been the happiest baby since the formula. She was always whiny and/or crying, so I think she just wasn't getting enough. But now, she is a whole different baby AND she sleeps through the night!! Last night I got 10 hours in a row. Love that. Here she is holding her own bottle.
Every time I go into her nursery, she's somewhere different in her crib. Crazy girl. She's wearing a Ronaldo soccer jersey! Can you guess who dressed her for the day?!

YAY! She's finally here. Our good friends Mike and Jeanette had their baby on Thursday the 24th! Although I'm sad she didn't come on my birthday, I am glad she came when she did. We couldn't wait anymore. She is so cute! Congrats you guys and good luck :)

our 24th

This year the 24th was so different than all the others. Maybe because it was on a Thursday or maybe because Ross had to work all day! We usually go over to Liberty Park and mingle with all the brave souls who are sleeping out, but we didn't this year cause nobody slept out. We had a BBQ at my in laws with all the fam, which was really fun. Then we just camped out on the front lawn to watch the fireworks. I thought it would be fun to keep Brenna up past her bedtime to watch fireworks...she did pretty well.

And Brenna got a new toy! She loves it!

birthday

It's our birthday today! We're 27 years old. It's funny when I say WE, people who don't know that I'm a twin, think I'm talking about me and Ross. It's always been WE and always will be!! I'm so glad that I get to share my birthday with one of my best friends. Found some fun pics of when we were small....

We've had some fun times, Ann! ( I tried to put a picture of us on Deal or no Deal, but it didn't work out, just like us on the show :) Here's to many more "WE"s. Love you!

poor kid

Brenna has a hernia :( Her Dr. discovered it at her 4 month check-up. He asked if I had noticed the swelling between her legs. Um...no! She has so many fat rolls, how was I supposed to notice this? At her 6 month check-up, he told me to visit a urologist, which we did today. He confirmed that it is indeed a hernia.
Poor kid.
Apparently they're more common in boys, but girls can get them too, obviously. There's 2 small holes that the ovaries ( and testes in boys :) pass through that usually close up by themselves. Hers didn't. So they do a MINOR surgery......the surgeon was so cute, he said it's minor for him, but MAJOR for me.....it only takes 30 minutes to repair. I had my list of questions for the surgeon and he took his time and answered all of them! I feel better, but still nervous to see my baby have to go "under." We've scheduled it in September. I'm sure I'll blog about how it went :)

And this post wouldn't be complete without Brenna! She had just woken up from her nap and her hair was everywhere. Now you know why we call her "crazy hair ma Gee!"

memory monday

I was recently blog stalking and came across a blog that did Memory Mondays. I thought that was such a fun idea! To reminisce about something that you haven't thought about in years. So here is my MM that I have recently remembered. *this will probably be my one and only MM, because I'm just not that kind of blogger :)*

Ross and I were flipping through the channel guide the other day and Ross said "I bet you loved this show when you were younger."
It was Newsies. *sigh* He knows me SO well!
I'm sure most of you have seen this show and have memorized all of the words to the songs and the moves to the dances. I have, I'm hoping you have too otherwise I'll feel pretty dumb! I remember in 6th grade sleeping over at our friend Christina's house, staying up until 6 am singing the songs and dancing the dances. Then making crepes! We also sang and danced to "King of New York" for our junior high choir class. Good times.
I loved Jack Kelly.


But for some reason I loved Spot more.
Looking at him now, I'm not sure why :)

sad baby

Brenna has been really fussy the last couple of days. I think she caught my cold from St. George cause ever since coming back, she has not been happy! And to make it worse she had her shots at her 6 month checkup, so she's extra fussy. Nothing I do seems to help her. So I took pics :)

But, on the plus side...she can sit up by herself.

6 months

Brenna is now 6 months old! She is so fun right now, her BIG personality is really starting to show! She loves to scream and is very feisty. But we love her so much. Here are her stats:
weight-14 lbs 8 oz. (21%)
height-27 inches ( 89%)
head-43.5 cm (76%)

A few things she's doing at 6 months:
-rolling over
-sitting up by herself( for 3 seconds!)
-getting herself to sleep for naps & bedtime....so nice



-eating rice cereal
-starting to hold arms out when she wants to be held

-dancing and playing with daddy....don't you love her head poking out?

our 4th of july

We had a fabulous 4th! We got to spend it down in St. George with the Wentworth's in the 105 degree weather. I loved it! I took some pics, but most of them are of Brenna, none of the family. Who wants to see us anyway? Here she is in her 4th of July dress.

She LOVES the water.
