done.

The basement.

Done....for now. Painting is done. Carpet is in. TV stand comes on Friday so we can finally set up our new TV we've been saving for this day. We bought it in October.
It's about time, don't you think?!

Here is the before of the stairs.

And after.
Before
After. This will be our office

The 'hallway' after

This will be our TV room/family room. SO excited for this!!
I picked out my perfect color (Benjamin Moore's Gray Mirage), got a 5 gallon bucket of the stuff, put it on the wall and it was too dark for me.

Crap.

So my ever patient husband dumped 3 gallons of white paint to it to lighten it up. Each gallon he put in, he'd put it on the wall, wait for it to dry, look at me and my expression, and just kept adding more. He knows me so well!
Needless to say...it turned out perfect. And the carpet is brown, but in these pictures it almost has a red tint to it.
I can't stop staring at the carpet. I can finally go in my own basement with bare feet!

I am amazed!! It looks wonderful, I bet you are beyond excited to have all that room to use. We couldn't wait to get our basement updated for the same reason. Where did you get your carpet? We need to replace the carpet upstairs in our house.

Lucky you! My basements never get finished until we move out. Then he fixes it up all nice for resale value and I'm all "well now I like it here!"
