introducing.....
We were ready to go.
My doctor came in around 8:30. I pushed about 4-5 times and Maya was born.
She had swallowed meconium, so I wasn't able to hold her right after. They took her over into the corner and started suctioning the stuff out. They took 1 1/2 oz out of her! She wasn't breathing well, so they decided to take her to the NICU and put a CPAP machine on her. I did get to hold her for a minute before they took her, though.
Maya got to come back 45 minutes later, doing great.
She is super cute and we're so excited that she's a part of our family.

done.
The basement.
Done....for now. Painting is done. Carpet is in. TV stand comes on Friday so we can finally set up our new TV we've been saving for this day. We bought it in October.
It's about time, don't you think?!
Here is the before of the stairs.
Before
After. This will be our office
This will be our TV room/family room. SO excited for this!!
I picked out my perfect color (Benjamin Moore's Gray Mirage), got a 5 gallon bucket of the stuff, put it on the wall and it was too dark for me.
Crap.
So my ever patient husband dumped 3 gallons of white paint to it to lighten it up. Each gallon he put in, he'd put it on the wall, wait for it to dry, look at me and my expression, and just kept adding more. He knows me so well!
Needless to say...it turned out perfect. And the carpet is brown, but in these pictures it almost has a red tint to it.
I can't stop staring at the carpet. I can finally go in my own basement with bare feet!

baby sister pictures....and B.
I haven't been great at taking any pictures of my belly.
Poor baby sister.
So this morning I had Brenna take two shots, which look exactly the same. Blurriness and all :)
And the picture taker herself. With no pants on :)
I have 3 weeks left.
Most days I'm excited, but then there are days when I'm just down right scared.
I lie in bed at night thinking of everything that needs to be done, but isn't. But I'm not stressed about it. Right now the crib isn't set up (basement is ALMOST done, so then we can move our office downstairs, then set up the baby's room!), and I think 'No biggie. She can sleep in the pack'n'play for a few weeks, or even her car seat like B did'.
My hospital bag isn't packed, or B's suitcase to sleepover at Gma's houses and cousin's isn't packed. Oh well. For some reason, I'm not stressing. :) I'm sure Ross is shocked by this statement!
No name yet. She may just be baby sister all her life.
I'm feeling good, for the most part. Everyone tells me to take it easy (since I'm still mowing my lawn and painting the basement), but I remember working full time when I was pregnant with Brenna and I was on my feet all day, everyday. It's good for me to stay busy and get some things done before I'm stuck nursing every 2 hours :)
So things are going great around here. I get to go buy some new furniture for the basement, but I have a budget to stick to, so it's been difficult to get what I want :) So many cute things out there!
I will post pics of the newly finished basement soon....oh, and I guess I'll post pics of baby sister as well! :)

windows....
Yesterday was an exciting day over here. We finally got new windows installed!!
Our old ones were....well, old. Really old.
And gross.
They were so old that I couldn't open any of the windows upstairs. All I wanted to do was open a window and let some fresh air in.
The casings were aluminum, which back in the old days was good, I guess. But they were a nightmare. If it was windy outside, we could here it loud and clear. They got really hot in the summer and freezing in the winter.
Anyway.. here are some before pics...
This is the kitchen window. I've tried to scrub this window, but it's no use. It gets stuck and I can't reach my hand in the little opening.
The outside of the kitchen window
The bathroom window. This was our real concern. (Sorry about the bad picture). Those are glass blocks and the center one opens up just a crack. It's so weird.
Every window guy that came through to give us a bid (there were 3) came into the bathroom and said...'What the....?'
Now you know how I feel.
The outside of the bathroom window
And now the afters...
The kitchen...I can open it!!!
The 2 front windows. Yes I know the wrapping are still brown. They're perfectly fine and we'll get around to painting them.
Someday.
And the bathroom window. This window is an 'Ultramax' window. We upgraded just this one because we don't have a fan in this bathroom so it gets really steamy after a bath or shower. So the top (and the bottom) of this window open up. And I can move the screen up and down depending on which one is open. Love it.
The house is coming together quite nicely, I must say.
In the basement we need to prime one more room ( and paint baseboards) and then we can start painting the color I chose! The carpet is ordered and hopefully will be here in 2 weeks, which by then we should be done with the painting.
Hopefully :)
And then baby sister should arrive.
Yikes.

scooter....
For Christmas, Santa brought Brenna a scooter. And not just any scooter, but a Toy Story scooter.
And since we had a couple of nice days outside, daddy put it together for her so she can ride it.
She also has knee pads, elbow pads and gloves to finish off the look.
This girl is very tomboy. She loves Super heroes, bugs and Toy Story stuff (still!) She wears boy underwear cause it has Buzz and Woody on them. She loves helping daddy work downstairs and loves to get her hands dirty. She thinks it's funny when she burps. And she toots in public.
But she can also be very girly. She loves to have her fingernails painted red. And her toenails painted hot pink and purple. She loves to wear pretty dresses that twirl when she spins, and her black 'dance shoes' (as she calls them) to church cause they make pretty sounds on the hardwood floors. Most Sundays she let's me do her hair so she looks somewhat decent.
She's developed an attitude...well, she's always had one, but now that she can talk in complete sentences (and yell) it's 10 times worse. She'll put her hands on her hips and tells me exactly how she feels. Some days I feel like were best friends, and others I feel like we yell at each other all day. Yes, I'm a yeller.
But she still loves her daddy. No matter how hard the day has been with her, I know there's light at the end of the tunnel when Ross pulls in the driveway :)

mother's day weekend.....
We headed down to St. George for Mother's Day weekend.
It was 90 degrees, and it was heaven.
Of course we swam and played in the pool most of the time. The other times we relaxed.
On Saturday Ross played golf in the morning with his dad and brother, and I got to go shopping with my mother in law. Then that night Ross and I got to go out to dinner, just us. Very romantic :) Yep, us at Outback Steakhouse stuffing our faces, me trying to talk to Ross while he's watching the basketball game on the TV behind me.
*sigh*
Story of my life.....:)
No, it was actually really nice to not be interrupted by the 3 year old wanting to know everything....We had an adult conversation. It's nice to know that we're on the same page about things, even though we don't discuss them regularly. Love that guy!
Sunday for Mother's Day, Ross had to head back home while B and I stayed behind one more day. But they did surprise me with a Kindle. And I have to say, I am LOVING it.
Thanks buddy and Brenna for being so kind to mommy :)
And Brenna and I had lunch with my Grandma and Grandpa Moore who live down there. We love spending time with them and Brenna always asks them if she can have some M&M's :) And I always ask for the homemade Pepsi! AH, it's the best.
It was great to get away and get some sun on our skin. How we've missed it up here.
Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Mom's that I know. Especially my own. There are no words to express how much I love her.
And Happy Birthday to my Dad. Love you and miss you.
